SafeRoutes.online uses real-time travel advisory data from the US State Department and UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) to classify countries by safety level (1-4). It then analyzes a graph of 67,000+ airline routes across 3,400+ airports to find multi-hop flight paths that only transit through countries rated Level 1 (Safe) or Level 2 (Caution), avoiding Level 3 (Reconsider Travel) and Level 4 (Do Not Travel) countries entirely.

Yes, SafeRoutes.online is completely free. It uses publicly available government travel advisory data, the GDELT conflict event database, OpenSky Network for live flight tracking, and OurAirports for airport data. No account or registration is required.
